**IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE MY OFFICE WAS ON RT. 9 IN OLD BRIDGE, NEW JERSEY 08857**
Don't get me wrong I moved to Freehold Township 4 years ago, truly a scene from a Garden State brochure for landscaping; I loved my office in Freehold Boro the County Seat of Monmouth County. HOWEVER.......I just moved myself back up 10 miles to OLD BRIDGE Middlesex County 44 square miles on the border of Monmouth County.........it took some soul searching but I know I am home................................RE/MAX Team Success is on Rt. 9 N, Old Bridge, across the road from where I started Real Estate Rt. 9 S, Old Bridge. I still am active in all counties, but I was very taken with this location. I know the original stores that were here. Maybe we will have a quiz someday WOW did we start it. The market crashed and we gathered up buyers' and sold Old Bridge, Sayreville, South River, East Brunswick and Spotswood, these were the most popular. Rt. 18 was one lane and so was Rt. 9, almost all our buyers' came out of Brooklyn some Queens not many, they went to Old Bridge, Staten Island didn't start coming until the end of the 90's. I think that is why I still have the accent, I will blame it on my customers' and friends and neighbors. At that time it was Brooklyn and Jersey City. No elected Mayor until the 90's. As you may have read I am a transplant from Brooklyn I thought I was living in the country "oh boy" they followed me and so did their children and now their grandchildren. The buyers' did not want to travel any further then Old Bridge that's when we used real telephones with a separate answering machine, in order to be a full time Agent you did Desk, in other words you answered the phones to get customers'. That included weekends.
Remember we had car phones not cell they were so heavy and big they had to be mounted in the car. No one called because you did not give out the number much too expensive. My. my memories, I am dating myself it just flew by......................I am back and it has changed and I know I had a lot to do with the change, we listed and sold and continue to sell. Old Bridge was considered a "bedroom community" in my day, kids playing in the yard, or the roads, community sports, then 2 High Schools I must say they have one big one now Old Bridge High School. When I moved to Old Bridge it was known as Madison Township and the Post Office was in East Brunswick. Such changes. I moved there in 1973 from Lincoln Park which was in Morris County. Rt. 9 and Rt 18 were 1 lane that was fun in the snow no front wheel vehicles. I hit something on the average of every winter, I went off the road on the ice but the cars were so big no one got hurt.
Anyway I am thrilled..................to feel so welcome and I am a part of this Town.
I am sending a picture to a friend I just attended the opening of this store on Rt. 33 W in Manalapan NJ 07726 I do believe they take orders or will soon. I think it will bring a smile to him it did to me........................I hope you check my blog..............................
Happy Thanksgiving to All
